Frequently asked questions
What is the cost?
The cost will differ depending on if you are insured or non-insured. Email louise@portlapsurgery.com.au and she will email you a comprehensive welcome information email including fees.
Do I qualify?
Read through the list in the ‘Am I a Candidate?’ section.
If you have a BMI greater than 30, have a health issue associated with your obesity such as type 2 diabetes (insulin resistance) and have tried weight loss strategies in the past you may qualify for a suitable procedure.
How long do I need off work?
Around 10 business days to ensure you are recovered, well hydrated and are gaining plenty of nutrition from your food. Some people choose to return to light duties after a week although sitting for long periods, intense gym work or heavy lifting are not recommended until after your post op with Dr Petrou. Walking is highly recommended!
Where will the surgery will be performed?
Port Macquarie Private Hospital which is a Ramsay Health Facility.
